The curriculum of Peace Through Play Nursery School draws on the Peace Education philosophy of Maria Montessori who actually coined the phrase Peace Education. For us that means that we provide children with fun and engaging activities that give them some good tools for learning how to be in the world. We also incorporate all the great teaching skills, ideas and concepts that prepare children cognitively, emotionally and socially for the next stages of life. These include novel art experiences, dramatic and imaginary play, challenging cognitive materials (puzzles, science activities, an array of books, varieties of blocks, pre-reading and writing experiences) and plenty of outdoor physical activity, and lots of music!
